FAQ
›What's the difference between "tomorrow" and "in 24 hours"?
"Tomorrow" schedules for the same time tomorrow (or midnight if no time specified). "In 24 hours" schedules exactly 24 hours from now, regardless of the calendar day.
›Does snooze reschedule from the original time or from now?
Snooze always reschedules from the current time, not from when the reminder was originally due.
›How does recurrence work across daylight saving time changes?
Recurring reminders preserve your local wall-clock time across DST transitions. A daily 8am reminder stays at 8am even when clocks change.
›What happens if the bot is offline when my reminder is due?
It will be delivered as soon as the bot comes back online, with a note showing how long it was delayed.
›What happens if a reminder fails to deliver?
The bot retries delivery up to 6 times with increasing delays. If all retries fail, the reminder is marked as failed. You can view failed reminders and manually retry them.
›What are persistent reminders?
Persistent reminders re-notify you at escalating intervals until you acknowledge them. This ensures important reminders aren't missed. The follow-up schedule is: 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours (max 7 follow-ups).
›How do I acknowledge a reminder?
Click the "Acknowledge" button in the notification, or reply with !ack <reminder_id>. You can also acknowledge from the dashboard.
›What happens if I never acknowledge a persistent reminder?
After 7 follow-up attempts, the reminder is marked as "missed" and notifications stop.
›Can I turn off persistent reminders?
Yes. Use !reminder-settings or the dashboard to change your persistence mode:
- persistent (default): Re-notifies until acknowledged
- off: Fires once, no follow-ups
- ai_choice: AI decides per reminder based on importance
›Does snoozing reset the follow-up count?
Yes. When you snooze a reminder, the follow-up counter resets and starts fresh when the snoozed time arrives.
›Are recurring reminders also persistent?
Yes. Each occurrence of a recurring reminder follows your persistence settings independently.
